A plaid skirt is decided at the side seam. Panels are cut so the check runs continuously across the seam and the zip rather than breaking at the hip, and every waistband is worn for a full working day before approval. The jackets follow the same rule at the shoulder: cut with a light pad so the line stays straight, pressed open at the seam, and sleeved by hand so the arm hangs forward when you reach for something. Patch pockets are measured so they sit level when the jacket is closed. Nothing leaves the workroom until the check runs true and the hem sits level against the shoe it will be worn with.
